The problem
On many production floors, personal mobile phones are not allowed. That single rule removes the entire assumed safety path: no phone means no call, no app, no location, no way for anyone to know where an incident happened.
Every phone-based safety product on the market quietly depends on the thing this environment forbids.
What is being piloted
The standalone GPS button, which is a separate product line precisely because it needs no phone, no app, and no pairing. It has its own mobile connection, its own GPS, and two-way full-duplex voice built into the device.
For a restricted-phone floor that means a worker can raise an alarm and talk to whoever responds, and the responder gets a location — without anything the site’s policy prohibits being carried onto the floor.
How the pilot came about
ProTechMe exhibited at the Convergence Expo in New Delhi in March 2025 alongside our India distributor. The conversations there with industrial leaders, NGOs, and security companies opened the door to this pilot, and to a wider partner pipeline across the region.
The same trip produced a collaboration agreement with SRM Institute covering technology enhancements tailored to the Indian context.
What we are not claiming
This is a pilot and we describe it as one. There are no rollout figures, device counts, or results to report yet. When there are, they will be published with their source.
